OPEN POSITION

Coaching Director

If you are selected as a coach for RYHA you will be required to Register on the RYHA site  and provide updated Certification information (done through USA Hockey)  .  Contact Sara Weis with any questions regarding coach Registration or Certification at ryha.hockeyreg@gmail.com


USA Hockey Coaching Requirements

  • Complete Coach Registration Steps - DUE BY 10/15 (TRAVEL) | 11/15 (MITES/JR GOLD)
  • Attend Mandatory D10 Coaches Meeting - See schedule (TRAVEL)** Still being updated by D10 for 2018-2019 season
  • Complete any necessary CEP (re)certification courses - DUE BY 12/31 (ALL LEVELS)
  • Complete the online age-specific module(s) for the age level(s) you are coaching - DUE BY 10/15 (Travel) or 11/15 (Mites/Jr Gold)
  • Complete concussion training - DUE BY 10/15 (Travel) or 11/15 (Mites/Jr Gold)

NOTE: If a coach needs to be added after the initial roster approval, ALL CEP requirements must be complete at that time. 12/31 is no longer valid. 


D10 COACHES MEETING SCHEDULE:

A coach from each/every team is required to attend one of the meetings.  Fines will be assessed to RYHA for each team not represented. Required for ALL Squirt/10U, Peewee/12U, Bantam/15U Teams.

  • Sunday, 10/29 @ 1:00pm, Princeton
  • Thursday, 11/9 @ 6:00pm or 7:00pm, Fogerty

1. COACHES REGISTRATION

2018-19 Registration Link is not available yet.

ALL coaches will be required to complete the registration steps.

If you are a Rogers coach for a Girls team, you will need to register on RYHA & AAYHA to ensure communication, rosters and valid reimbursements are made. 


2. COACHING (CEP) CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Look up your CEP & Age Module level status.


3. Age-Specific Modules

Complete the age-specific module(s) for each level of play you plan to coach.


4. Concussion Training

Concussion Safety: Starting in 2018-19 season, each coach shall complete concussion training on an annual basis and provide an acknowledgement form with proof of training to the association prior to participating in any team activities. The acknowledgement form and a list of concussion training options can be found here.

A head coach or coach in charge of any team activity who has knowledge of a player sustaining a concussion or exhibiting concussion type symptoms shall complete a Minnesota Hockey Concussion Reporting and Return to Play form relating to the injury.  The form must be delivered to the team manager within 48 hours of receipt of information that a player sustained a concussion or exhibited concussion type symptoms. The team manager shall provide a copy of the report to the player’s parent or legal guardian. Until the completed Return to Play portion of the form is received by the team manager or coach, the coach and team manager shall ensure that the player does not participate in any team physical activities. Student Coaches

Student Coach Registration: Send all paperwork to ryha.hockeyreg@gmail.com 

1. USA Hockey Registration – Select Student Coach when prompted. (If already registered as a player, you don't need to register again.)

2. Student Coach Form (drop in RYHA mailbox at RAC, ATTN Registrar)

3. Student Coach Training (provided by RYHA)

No CEP/Module Training Required, but must be supervised with team coaching staff at all times.

No Background Check or Safesport required if under 18.

Can be on the bench, but will count as 4 max. Must wear helmet.
