Dear Parents of RYHA players,
The Rogers Youth Hockey Association Board has decided to participate in the Minnesota S.K.A.T.E. (Skaters Keep Achieving Through Education) program again this year. S.K.A.T.E. is a state program that encourages, supports, and rewards youth hockey players who commit themselves to their schoolwork while enjoying the great sport of hockey.
S.K.A.T.E. is partnered with the Minnesota Hockey Journal, Acceleration Minnesota, and Minnesota Hockey.
As the S.K.A.T.E. Association Coordinator for the RYHA, I am inviting you and your player to participate in this great program. As in years past, at the end of our season, there will be a S.K.A.T.E. rally where the qualifying players will be recognized and rewarded for their academic achievements. There will be great prizes! Last year, we had over 200 parents and players at the rally – it was a very exciting event.
Attached, are the purpose and goals of the RYHA S.K.A.T.E. program, the qualification criteria, and a S.K.A.T.E. brochure. Please note that the qualification criteria have been changed from last year. Your team has a S.K.A.T.E. team representative who will administer the program for your team.
I wish you and your team a very successful season both on and off the ice!
Sincerely,
Kristin Cecil S.K.A.T.E. Coordinator Rogers Youth Hockey Association (H) 763-428-1021 e-mail: kececil@comcast.net
